Sreedhar potarazu arrested

Sreedhar Potarazu, 51, of Potomac, Maryland pleaded guilty today to charges of inducing interstate travel to commit a fraud and failing to account for and pay.

Potarazu was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Alexandria to 10 years in prison for shareholder and tax fraud.

A medical doctor and entrepreneur was sentenced to 119 months and 29 days in prison today for defrauding his former company's shareholders.

At Thursday's initial appearance, Potarazu was ordered held pending a detention hearing set for Friday afternoon.

Sreedhar Potarazu, MD, an ophthalmologist and entrepreneur from Maryland, recently pled guilty to $30 million in shareholder fraud and and $7.5 million in tax evasion. He was arrested on October 6, 2016.
