On February 16, 2001, in Dorchester County, South Carolina, United States, 21-year-old Kandee Louise Martin^[a] (October 2, 1979 – February 16, 2001) was shot to death by a high school acquaintance, who stuffed her body inside the trunk and set fire to the car, burning her body as a result.
