    The Honourable Zamira Menuhin Benthall, daughter of legendary violinist Yehudi Menuhin and Nola Nicholas, has died peacefully at her home on 31 July at the age of 84.

    Her funeral will take place on 16 August in Pembury, Kent, UK.

    Menuhin Benthall was born in 1939 and spent much of her life continuing her father’s work, serving as a governor and vice-president for the Yehudi Menuhin School for many years.

    Between 1960–1969 she was married to Chinese pianist Fou Ts’ong, with whom she had one child, Lin Siao Fou-Menuhin. She later married British anthropologist Jonathan Charles Mackenzie Benthall in 1975, with whom she had children William Jonathan Menuhin Benthall and Dominic Gabriel Menuhin Benthall.

    The latter has served as a governor at the Menuhin school since his mother’s retirement.
